These glossy beauties
My family greatly appreciated these clouds of blueberries, but they felt that the streusel topping was a bit of an overkill.
I am to please.
Adapted from this recipe. Instead of using crescent roll dough, I used made-from-scratch pie dough. Perfect sample of bright summer fare in the final moments of winter.
Kansas City was bathed in sweet, sweet sunlight today. It was one of those perfect days with plenty of sunshine and a light whisper of a breeze. After breakfast, I wasted a couple of hours in bed before deciding to join the rest of the city outside. People were out in full-force, moving at a brisk pace along the sidewalks and outdoor trails with their pets and families.
I headed to the studio for a couple of hours of practice. I started a clay-throwing class a couple of weeks ago, and it has been highly enjoyable. It took me a long time to get the basics of wedging and centering down, and I can't lift to save a piece. I think I'm making progress, though. I can't wait to glaze and fire them up. Hopefully they'll survive the process!
My heart is a little bruised, so I'm doing something different this Lenten season.
I'm going to inject some color and fervor into my life. For the next 40 days, I'll try to include a little creativity into my everyday activities and to appreciate more of what's going on rather than obsessing about what could have been. It's going to be hard, but it'll be a much needed nice bit of joy to make the gray clouds go away.
Oh, in the spirit of the Lenten season, I am going to give up shopping. Clothes shopping. There is no way I could ever give up grocery shopping.
{Gotye feat. Kimbra--Somebody That I Used to Know. Awesome video graphics and simply profound lyrics. Sexy.}
